Shutting down HyperCloud

These instructions are for shutting down the HyperCloud cluster for maintenance or otherwise.

Before proceeding with the shut down, check for the health state of Ceph.

  • Log into the cluster and enter the command ceph -s. The desired output should include HEALTH_OK. If the cluster's health output contains either WARN or ERROR, please contact the SoftIron support team before continuation of the process.

If the cluster is healthy enough to move forward, all VMs and services can be gracefully shut down.

  • This can be accomplished either via the VM consoles, or using the Power Off option in the GUI, which will send an ACPI power signal to the VMs.

With all workloads halted within the cluster, HyperCloud can now be powered off.
